When Beshken was preparing to release his newest experimental track "Restless Earth" last year he wanted something more than a music video to compliment the track's otherworldly atmosphere. I teamed up with the talented Ben Lyaunzon on this to bring together different interactive elements to fit the song.
In Restless Earth we explore the chaotic relationship of technology, nature, and human perception. Through the abstraction of silicon wafers we tie the digital landscape to the physical, allowing the music to incite a tectonic hyper-shift in the chips. Viewing technology as a force of perceptual tension, we pull images from google street view to reflect the distorted relationship of user and device.
